Ethan Armstrong
Ethan Armstrong is an estimator for Cornerstone Contracting, Inc. (CCI). Ethan has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years. While growing up, Ethan wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps as an Architect and Contractor. Ethan studied Architectural Technologies at Prairie State College to further his knowledge in the construction industry. In 1981, Ethan began framing houses during his summers while living in Houston TX. As a result of the daily production processes, he was able to quickly learn the fundamentals of framing, print reading, layout, and roof cutting. These early skills proved to serve him well when he began framing custom homes in the Chicagoland area.
Ethan started his own carpentry contracting company in 1988, framing custom homes, light commercial, and tenant build out. In 1993, Ethan’s business combined interests with another small contracting company and property management company to increase their presence in the tenant build out market for GSA. In this role, Ethan supervised all aspects of the construction process to include hiring architectural and MEP design firms. This role allowed for Ethan to complete the process from client’s conceptual drawings, permits, delivery method, contracts, and direct supervision of subcontractors and tradesmen.
Ethan has worked for architectural design firms, construction management divisions, electrical contracting firms, and site development companies. Ethan has had the opportunity to combine many different roles from project manager, estimator, and superintendent. Ethan’s background has been beneficial with his knowledge of estimating to include the integral portions of a project.
Currently with CCI, Ethan has a vital role in preconstruction activities. With such current projects with the Department of Veterans Affairs, City of Chicago, and Metropolitan Water Reclamation Department. Ethan plays an important role in taking projects from the estimating phase through turnover to CCI field management.
Ethan with his wife, Jacquelyn spend most of their time around the activities of their eight children that range in ages from 4 to 18 years.
